Entrepreneurial Strategy Manager

Full-time·Remote-friendly

Job description

  • Character IP Planning
  • Lead the definition of Somnia Lab’s character IP: persona, personality, backstory, world‑building, and visual references.
  • Deliver the IP bible: specification documents, tone‑of‑voice guidelines, and sustainable narrative frameworks.
  • Design emotional touch‑points between the IP and users: strategies to build affection, identification, and user‑driven sharing.
  • Collaborate with AIGC and brand visual teams to translate IP concepts into tangible user experiences.
  • Content Strategy & Production Enablement
  • Own IP‑centered content strategy: themes, publishing cadence, platform mix, and content formats.
  • Support content production teams (AIGC‑powered short‑form videos, social media assets, articles, long‑form content) to deliver IP‑aligned deliverables.
  • Create creative briefs to align execution teams on the core narrative objective for every content piece.
  • Cross‑Functional Creative Alignment
  • Partner with the AIGC team: turn IP lore into visual storytelling.
  • Partner with brand visual teams: translate IP into key visuals, brand assets, and merchandise.
  • Partner with social‑media operations: adapt the IP into a day‑to‑day interactive persona.
  • IP Iteration & Asset Build‑up
  • Continuously refine the IP based on user feedback and campaign performance metrics.
  • Safeguard IP consistency across all content and campaigns.
  • Contribute to the long‑term IP roadmap: evolving from standalone characters to a full‑fledged IP universe.

Requirements

  • 3‑5 years of professional experience in creative planning, IP development, brand strategy, or content strategy.
  • Proven track record of independently leading 0‑to‑1 builds for IPs, fictional characters, or brand personas.
  • Exceptional storytelling aptitude: ability to translate abstract brand beliefs into distinct, well‑defined characters.
  • Deep familiarity with North‑American pop culture, meme culture, subcultures, and character‑IP ecosystems.
  • Native or near‑native English proficiency; capable of drafting character dialogue, world‑building settings, and creative pitches directly in English.
  • Genuine curiosity toward robosexual themes, AI companions, robotics, and virtual‑character subject matters.
  • Hands‑on cross‑functional collaboration experience; able to communicate seamlessly with AIGC, design, and social‑media teams.
  • Strong aesthetic taste and sharp judgment: understand what makes audiences fall in love with a character, and what makes a character feel cringey.

Nice to have

  • Prior experience with virtual idols, anime‑style IPs, or general entertainment‑focused IP projects.
  • Familiarity with the product‑design logic behind AI‑character products such as Character.AI and Replika.
  • Work experience for character‑centric brands (Sanrio, Pop Mart, Line Friends, Duolingo Duo, Baby Yoda, Barbie, etc.).
  • Experience building or participating in fan‑community / fandom ecosystems.
  • Prior study, residency, or professional work experience in North America.
  • Personal side‑project background: writing, comics, or other character‑driven content creation.
  • Public creative output covering futurism, AI companions, or human‑robot relationship topics.
