Hardware Engineering
Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (Full‑Machine)
Job description
- Conduct structural design and transmission‑mechanism design for torso, limbs and other assemblies, including calculation and validation of gears, timing belts and linkages.
- Lead robot lightweight design, stiffness optimization, strength verification and fatigue‑life analysis. Ensure key performance metrics are met and validated via simulation.
- Perform prototype assembly, commissioning, issue logging and design iteration. Collaborate with the test team to rapidly resolve structural‑failure issues.
- Manage mechanical BOMs, follow up manufacturing processes, optimize assembly workflows and oversee test validation. Establish the full end‑to‑end workflow from design to mass production.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or above, majoring in Mechanical Design, Mechatronics, Material Forming or related disciplines.
- Proficient in Rhino.
- Expert‑level command of at least one mainstream 3D CAD tool (SolidWorks / Fusion 360 / Creo).
- Skilled in performing simulation analysis with CAE tools such as ANSYS and ABAQUS.
- Prior mechanical‑design experience with industrial robots, humanoid robots or medium‑to‑large automated equipment is preferred.
- Comfortable leveraging AI tools to assist engineering design and documentation delivery; embrace an AI‑native working style.
Nice to have
- Mass‑production mold‑development experience for robotic arms or industrial robots.
- Hands‑on structural‑design and mass‑production project experience for consumer‑electronics products or smart hardware.
- Core‑team member experience in robotics competitions including RoboCon and RoboMaster.
